During a working day I found this friend, from above it looked small, but I know it was not. This is perhaps one of the greatest and most wonderful advantages of living on an island.

The pelican is a bird of aquatic habits that belongs to the family Pelecanidae and the order Pelecaniformes. Its scientific name is Pelecanus and it is distributed throughout the world except for the interior of South America, the poles and the open ocean. They are characterized by their long beak with a large gular sac used for capturing prey and draining the water collected before swallowing it.
