Aechmea fendleri, also known as Aechmea porteoides, belongs to the Bromeliaceae family. There is a great variety of Bromeliad species, distributed throughout South America, Mexico and Central America. This bromeliad is also known as Aechmea porteoides, a native species of Venezuela. They can reach up to 60 meters in height, they can be seen in their beautiful blue and purple colors. It is a totally terrestrial tropical bromeliad, it can be planted in any type of soil, They are not cold resistant and must receive indirect sunlight. This type of bromeliad is ornamental.
