#BullMoose photo from Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. This bull had just emerged from a nearby lake after feeding on aquatic vegetation. Moose are the largest member of the deer family and inhabit large portions of North America. Moose are generally solitary creatures which avoid human interaction, but on this particular day, this moose snuck up on me from behind. He presented himself for an excellent photo opportunity at a distance of only fifteen feet. Immediately after this photo was taken this bull squared up, and made a grunting noise, which I took as a warning to back up. I held my ground, but did not follow him, and thankfully made it out safely. The bull moose is one of the most dangerous and deadly big game species in North America, particularly during the mating season.
