Oreamnos americanus AKA North American Mountain Goat of Glacier National Park

This photo was captured at hidden lake pass in Glacier National Park at a rough elevation of 6,646ft. This is the highest point of the iconic "Going To The Sun Road". These goats are not native to the park, but they are native to rocky alpine environments. The mountain goat population in Glacier National Park is prolific, and they have become one of the most iconic symbols of the park. Look high onto the rocky cliffs and you will likely spot goats perilously navigating the rocky crags thousands of feet above you. This park is a must visit for any wildlife enthusiasts.
