This is a symbol in our local Ghanaian culture called Gye Nyame meaning nothing without God. It is one of the major Adinkra symbols of the Akan people in my country Ghana. Nyame in Akan means "God". The symbol is kind of use to represent the authority of God as being the Ominipotent and Omniscient God, who sees and knows everything that we do.
This design is mostly printed on clothes or dresses to symbolize the rich culture of the Ghanaian people.
This painting that I made using Ibix Paint can be used as wallpaper in our rooms or even wallpaper on our electronic devices.
I did the painting in stages so to speak.
- I began by drawing the symbol on a white sheet of paper using a normal common pencil
I continued by completing the drawing of the symbol
I made the outline very deep using the same pencil so as to make the drawing visible
I started with my painting. NB; I did the painting with 13 different colours
- I continued with my painting in order to achieve the painting I wanted.
- Finally, I was done with my painting
I really like the outcome because it makes me really value my country and culture. I think it would be nice to share a part of that rich culture with the world through steemit and the lovely people of the @DraftCrearte community.
Thank you
I am glad to see the Gye Nyame symbol is shown to the world.
Well done bro.
