For me, i don't believe that any stone can bring positivity or negativity in our life. We are taught to rely on Almighty for luck and prosperity rather than material things.
There are many zaif hadith about our prophet(pbuh) wearing stones and recommending nation to do so.
But there is no authentic hadith that emphasize on wearing lucky stones.
Quran has mentioned three stones in it:
- Ruby
- Pearl
- Coral
We can wear any stone we like because Allah is beautiful and he likes beauty
But attaching any stone to luck and positivity is not something that i believe in.
Surely people wear stones in the form of rings, they have inherited this tradition through Prophet's companions. They may had got it as sunnah from our Prophet (PBUH), who used to wear silver ring and couple of other stones according to inauthentic references.
However, there is no harm in wearing stones but attaching luck to it surely is.
As long as you're not doing shirk it's cool to wear them
This concept of stones being lucky and evil is old. You must have heard about koh-e-noor diamond that is in the processions of king Charles of UK.
This diamond is perceived to be evil for men to wear. Only women and God can wear it (as God of Hindus, karishna wore it). Those men(monarch) who wore it died miserably and lost their emperors.
Koh e noor was owned by Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Afghani kings, they themselves used to wear it. They all lost it from one hand to another in a matter of less than a century. Few of these kings were also overthrown by their sons.
It's believed the wrath and evilness of koh e noor.
British realised this and their kings didn't wear it instead their queens used to wear it since then.
Now king Charles has diagnosed with cancer and people believe its the wrath of koh e noor.
These are all false beliefs, a stone can't make you sick or healthy.
Again people believe in zodiac signs and get to know about their lucky stone by aligning their date of birth with zodiac signs.
There are 12 months so are 12 specific gemstones for each month.
The zodiac signs also play a part here and are linked with other planets of the universe.
The wearing of gemstones is thousands of years old. First Haroon (A.S) who was the brother of Musa (A.S) wore 12 gem stones on a breastplate.
It was a norm for high priest to wear them when engaging in conversation with almighty as mentioned in Book of Exodus
a text probably based on ancient oral tradition and written down in stages between around 600 and 400BC.
Later a scholar Josephus realised the link of the 12gemstones with:
- 12sons of Israel
- 12 months of the year
- 12 zodiac signs
People used to wear multiple stones in every finger.
Later on it became only one specific gemstones. People started assigning birth stones according to their birth month and zodiac signs.
According to my date of birth which is 23 September, my lucky stones is sapphire. And i don't have any sapphire:(
Also i don't believe in lucky stone, i will wear any stone i find fascinating and beautiful.
I don't have my lucky stone with me. Only real stone that i have is FEROZA (TURQUOISE) (فيروز نيشابوري). My Mamo has gifted it, he brought it from Saudi Arabia.
I have already shared its picture above.
