Let me start by congratulating the Steem4Bloggers Community for being among the appointed communities to host the Steemit Engagement Challenge for season 7. So far, I have been seeing your good works with some of the various activities of this community, and I must commend that the team members are very active and dedicated.

For the first week, you have presented a very entertaining and interesting contest titled My Personality Growth in 2022 by @hive-109435

The year 2022 was really an incredible journey for me, as I worked to prioritize and grow my personal life. From setting healthy boundaries with family and friends to practicing self-care, I've made some meaningful changes that have improved my well-being and enabled me to lead a more balanced life.

I Made Time For Myself

Making time for yourself is often overlooked, but it is essential for personal growth, given the fact that when we we take good care and f ourselves, we can then take good care of others. I made an effort to prioritize myself and my own needs.

I began by creating a self-care plan, where I outlined how I would make sure I had enough time each week to focus on myself (especially my Steemit blog). I set aside 4 hours each day of the week for “me time”, where I could read, watch a movie, go for a walk, or do whatever I needed to feel good. I also added activities like getting enough sleep, eating healthy, and exercising into my routine.

When I found myself feeling overwhelmed, I stopped and take a few minutes to myself. Instead of dwelling on the issue, I would focus on calming myself down. Whether it was taking a few deep breaths or just having a cup of tea, this gave me the pause I needed to get back to feeling like myself.

Finally, I tried to look at any problems in my life through a positive lens. Whenever something felt out of control or too much to handle, I reminded myself that all these moments will pass, and instead of focusing on what was wrong, I focused on the positives in my life.
Making time for myself allowed me to be more patient, and I hope that you find time for yourself this year too.

I Cut Out Toxic Relationships

One of the best things I did this past year to improve my personal life was to cut out toxic relationships. Toxic relationships can be draining, emotionally exhausting, and can take a toll on your mental health. So, I made a conscious effort to distance myself from people who were negative, unsupportive, or otherwise not good for my emotional well-being.

I started by setting boundaries with the people in my life. I realized that it’s okay to say no and that it doesn’t make me a bad person. When I set boundaries, I made sure to stay firm on them and not let people walk all over me. If someone crossed a line or was not respecting my boundaries, I had no problem cutting them off.

I also learned to recognize the signs of a toxic relationship and acted quickly when needed. Toxic relationships usually involve one or both parties being manipulative, controlling, or abusive. If I noticed any red flags in my relationships, I took steps to distance myself as soon as possible.

Lastly, I took the time to fill my life with positive people and energy. Instead of wasting time on toxic relationships, I chose to spend more time with people who care about me and lift me up. Doing this has really improved my outlook on life and helped me become the best version of myself.

I Learned To Say "No"

One of the hardest things to learn in life is how to say “no”. Saying no can be difficult, but it is one of the most important skills for personal growth. Learning to say no means setting healthy boundaries for yourself and others, and being honest about what you can and cannot do.

When I first started learning to say no, I was scared of hurting someone’s feelings or upsetting them. However, I soon realized that it was much better for my personal well-being if I said no when necessary.

Saying no allows me to prioritize my own needs and wants, instead of worrying about pleasing everyone else. It also helps me stay true to my values and beliefs, even if it means going against what others want or expect from me.

Learning to say no has also allowed me to make better decisions, both for myself and for those around me. I now take the time to think through my decisions, instead of immediately giving in to something just because I don’t want to hurt someone else’s feelings.

All in all, saying no has been a great tool for improving my personal life. It has allowed me to make better decisions, prioritize my own needs and values, and build better relationships. If you’re looking to improve your personal life this year, I highly recommend learning how to say no.

I Started A Gratitude Journal

At the beginning of this year, I decided to start a gratitude journal. Writing down the things I am thankful for has been an amazing way to stay focused on the positive things in my life. I find that the simple act of writing it down helps me to appreciate it more and see the blessings I have in my life.

I make it a daily habit to write at least three things that I’m grateful for. I love seeing how far I have come throughout the year and reflecting on the journey. It also makes me more mindful of the little things that I take for granted each day.

I have found that my mood and outlook on life have greatly improved since I started using a gratitude journal. So if you’re looking for a simple way to improve your personal life, then I highly recommend starting a gratitude journal. Even if you’re feeling down, the act of writing can be therapeutic and help you get through tough times. So don’t wait, start writing today.

I Have Learnt To Set And Work Towards Achieving My Goals

One of the best ways to improve your personal life is to set realistic goals for yourself, and that is exactly what I have learned to start doing. When setting goals, make sure that you are honest about what you are capable of achieving in a certain period of time. It’s important to be realistic and to be able to assess what goals are achievable in the short and long term.

When setting goals, think of the SMART acronym; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This ensures that your goal is well thought out and clear, so you can track your progress and ultimately reach it. Setting realistic goals helps to keep you motivated and focused on the task ahead.

It is also beneficial to have a variety of goals for different areas of your life such as career, relationships, physical health, and spirituality. For me, I am working towards becoming a better blogger and programmer for Steemit and society.

Conclusion

Personal growth is an opportunity to prioritize our mental and physical health and work on improving our personal lives. It’s important to take some time to reflect on the positive changes that we have made and celebrate the progress we’ve made over the years.

From committing to our personal growth to cutting out toxic relationships and learning to say no when necessary, I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire you to do the same.
