The head of a school is equivalent to the president of a country. The development of the country depends heavily on the leader's managerial and leadership skills. Similarly to this, the principal of a college affects how well it will do. The school will have a good reputation among the people in the region if the principal has great leadership qualities and administrative balance.

What would you do for the growth of your school in academics?

If I got the chance to be a principal of the school, I will use my leadership qualities to expand my school. As a leader, I first convene a staff meeting and inquire about the school's problems and the difficulties that the students are experiencing. After that, I will address all of those problems and weaknesses with the assistance of my staff. As I believe teamwork is essential to the development of any organization, I will give full power to the staff to face any challenge. I also advised the staff to take priority in maintaining school discipline. Additionally, rather than focusing on books, I create practical education for the school's students.

What tips would you give to the teachers regarding the maintenance of discipline?

I consider upholding discipline to be the primary objective of any society, organization, or family. Therefore, I advise the teachers to uphold the laws guiding the school and the students equally.

Do you think sports should be promoted at the school level? What would you want to do to encourage the sports boys/girls in your school?

Why not Sports are essential for maintaining students' discipline. Playing games can teach a student about winning and losing. They are trained from the beginning of their lives to be able to overcome any challenges. Therefore, first I assess each student’s talent and then provide them necessary training. Not only that I organize interschool tournaments, regional competitions, and island-wide competitions for my students. Additionally, when creating the annual budget, I allocated a sizeable bunch of cash for sports.

What do you do to provide an easy atmosphere for students to learn? (Behavior of teachers with students).

In my opinion, school education should provide in a friendly environment. Therefore, I advise my teachers to be friends with all the students and to approach any issues in a friendly manner.

At last, tell us about the personality of your school principal at your matriculation level.

Mr. Jayalath Fernando was the best principal I ever met. While he was the principal of the school he established a strong standard of discipline at the school. Additionally, the school was expanding significantly. Some parents remove their children from their schools and enroll in our school. My school rose to prominence in the region. Therefore, I'm able to say with confidence that Mr. Jayalath Fernando was the best principal I had ever met. He had the best leadership characteristics and a pleasant demeanor.
