I am glad to take part in this contest organized by @abdullahw2. I want to use this opportunity to talk about my favorite movie of the year 2023.
What type of movies do you like to watch (romantic, fighting, scary etc)? Tell us the reason.
I love action movies.
Reason being that they are exciting, thrilling and full of adventure. Action movies often have amazing and special effects. They take us on a roller coaster ride of emotions. They can also be quite funny and witty, which makes them even more entertaining, the action scenes are just incredible to watch, they allow us to escape from the real world for a little while, and that's something we all need sometimes.
Which one is your favorite movie of 2023? Why did you like it?
My favorite movie of the year 2023 is GANGS OF LAGOS. I so much love it for so many reasons.
The story was engaging and the action scenes were exciting. The movie also had a lot of interesting cultural references, which made it more unique. Altogether, the characters as well-developed as they could have been. Overall, I would give the movie 10 on 10.
Tell us about the main characters of your favorite movie. And did you learn any lesson from your favorite movie?
GANG OF LAGOS is about a group of friends, they were 4 kids who grew up in the street and along the way one of them died leaving the others to grow as a trio. Thier names were Obalola, Ify and Gift.
They later worked under a man named Kazeem as they become adults then Kazeem led to the death of Ify which finally made Obalola and his friends seek for revenge.
As for what I have learnt, the movie explores themes of loyalty, revenge, and the power.
The movie suggests that violence is not the answer to conflict, and that communication and understanding are more important.
Do you recommend others to watch this movie? Why? If yes then share the link of your favorite movie.
I do recommend GANGS OF LAGOS to everyone. While the film is not perfect, it offers a unique look at the world of gangs in Nigeria. The film also has a strong emotional core, which makes it more than just an action movie. For those interested in Nigerian culture and the power of storytelling, GANGS OF LAGOS is a must-watch.
