It is a great pleasure to participate in the engagement contest. It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It will even be a bigger achievement if the proposals that I present to him are taken into consideration because they will promote the goodwill of the people and being about the development of the nation.

**Which Country Am I From?

I am a Nigerian, a country blessed with so many resources. This country is known as The Giant Of Africa. A country though blessed with lots of riches has little to boats with what they have made of it. Currently, we are a few weeks away from our 2023 General Election. Nigeria is governed by President Muhammadu Buhari, if I am opportuned to meet with him, these are the 4 proposals that I will present to him.

• Investment in the agricultural sector
• Free and Fair Election
• Investment in Health and Education System

YOUTH INVOLVEMENT IN POLITICS

Youths are the future of tomorrow. We hear this all the time, in school, at church, and in mosques, they talk about the things we could achieve, yet Youths are given few opportunities in the political sector. Veteran politicians have not made way for these young people to be fully involved. I implore you, Mr President to create a section that would allow these youths to input their ideas. A hungry and fresh mind has a lot to offer the country and together with the veterans, the country will be a more developed and exciting place to stay.

INVESTMENT IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

Agriculture is one of the places that God has blessed a country like Nigeria, yet little is done to improve the farming status of most traders.
Mr President, I implore you to equip small farmers with improved and upgraded agriculture equipment that will help them boost their farming produce. This way, there is an opportunity for more employment in the agric sector and a balance of means of making money.

FREE AND FAIR ELECTION

The election is a few days away. Some people have made up their minds about who they want to vote for, some are thinking irrationally, and the masses are tired of the corruption that has overtaken the country. Prices of foodstuffs are constantly on the high side, yet salary remains the same, etc. Let strategic plans be put in place to ensure that the election is a free and fair one. That everyone can cast their vote with confidence that they will not be threatened, harmed, or worse killed. There should be enough security put in each polling unit to ensure that it is a peaceful election.

INVESTMENT IN THE HEALTH AND EDUCATION SECTOR

It is funny that we have hospitals yet the ministers keep travelling out for medical checkups and treatment. Our medical practitioners are really doing well, if there is a well-equipped hospital with the latest equipment and medical tools, there will be an improvement in treatments of aime sicknesses.

The education sector is a topic for another day, the years keep changing, new topics are introduced, and evolution has taken place but in some schools and departments, the students are still taught with an outdated curriculum. Some of the course outlines are filled with theoretical lectures that will not be useful when one gets unto the workplace. The majority of the academic year is filled with both intetnal and external strikes.

Lecturers should be sent to conferences, seminars, and workshops to learn new things about their subjects or courses. They should also be paid on time and respond to their demands so that there will be no need for a strike.
Lectures should be a mix of not just theoretical lectures, but practicals, fieldwork, and extensively researched. Students should be challenged to think with their brains and not just skim through their books to write and pass their exams and afterwards forget what they have learnt.
