Let's start today with something uncommon. This is botok, not botox which is a cosmetic operation there. Botok is a traditional food originated from Java Island, but it's not clear which part of Java started it first, the central one or the eastern one.
Botok consists of grated coconut meat which has low content of coconut milk. so those coconut meat has to be squeezed first to remove their milk then it is cooked together with other ingredients from vegetables to fishes. These botoks are cooked in banana leaves, and they are served together with those leaves.
Botok is consumed together with a warm white rice, but it won't be a rice with botok only. We can have many other dishes or side dishes there, with some vegetables and crisp. I have my botok here with a fried chicken and some stir-fried tempeh in soy sauce.
