It grows on a long stem that emerges from the hard, serrated leaves of the pineapple plant. It is a member of the large pineapple family and is believed to be a species that has adapted to arid, nutrient-poor soils.

This copy belongs to a friend, I took the photos at her house. She was in a pot with a view of the garden and the street. The subsequent editing was simple, cropping, and brightening up the colors.

According to the bibliography reviewed, this species theoretically grows up to 600 meters above sea level. But here we are at almost 1800 meters above sea level, which shows us the capacity to adapt to cold climates.

When I saw the picture, I thought it was a small pineapple growing only for me to read till the ending and see this is the highest it can be.. or does it grow bigger than this??

Hello dear friend.
Well I understand that this is a species that does not grow that much, I have seen some that are about 3 inches, it is more of an ornamental plant.
