In today's post I throw in three pictures I took today in the evening Street Photography photo challenge run by CCH community - Week #65.
On these photos you see the alleys at Marshal Govorov's public garden on the Fontanka River Embankment. I found myself here when the streetlights had already been lit, and was enchanted by the misty haze through which the houses on the opposite bank of the river shone through. At that hour, dog owners were taking their pets for a walk, and many of them enlivened my shots with their figures - but I was photographing light, not people (or rather its absence, to be precise).
Glad to see it’s not only the Uk that’s dark so early I normally whinge about it all winter as don’t hBe natural light to paint but trying to lean into appreciating it more this year
