Tasty Palm Oil or MTN Rice

Hello ! fellow Steemians and friends, glad to participate in your contest for the first time. Kindly join with me on the table as I present to you this amazing food photography. It's a Yellow colour rice popularly called Palm oil rice or MTN rice. It is called so because when preparing it with the neccessary ingredients, the outcome colour would be yellow. Rice as a staple food is consumed by all homes in my country. We have different methods of cooking rice. The most common is this MTN rice because it's cultural, economical, quick to arrange. By cultural I mean people who grave for its aroma and taste draw close to nature and keeping of cultural heritage.

The ingredients used in cooking this food are as follows:

5 cups of rice
1 milk cup of palm oil (red oil)
Crayfish
2 Onions
4 Seasoning cubes
2tb of Salt
5 Fresh pepper
Tumeric powder(optional)
Dry Fish

After parboiling the rice, sieve and drain out the water. You put on your pot on fire after it dries , you pour in the red oil and bleach it to a certain temperature to obtain a yellow colour, then pour in the chopped onions, fry and pour in the rice finally, add all the ingredients and allow to boil to dry, you bring the pot from fire , scoop and serve.

This food is for all and sundry, everybody knows how to cook it and consume it. If there's not enough money at home to prepare assorted food for the children, this tasty MTN rice would serve both the cost and time. It's a fast food . Many also like to eat it not because it's cheaper to prepare but the natural aroma of crayfish, dry Fish and the red oil would make you to want more.

It's also tasty and you would feel at home and have the feeling of your cultural heritage, I personally do. Our grand parents used to cook this meal and passed it down to our generation. Oh! I personally like eating it with ripe banana*.
