Today, I visited the hottest restaurant in Tashkent, Uzbekistan🇺🇿—the world’s largest “ CENTRAL ASIAN PILAF CENTR” BESH QOZON. It’s truly a paradise for pilaf lovers! Their signature pilaf is 70,000 soms per plate, which is roughly 40 RMB, quite reasonable. The open kitchen lets you walk around freely and watch giant pots of fragrant pilaf being cooked, making it a treat for both the eyes and the nose. You can really feel the boldness and warmth behind this dish!
Uzbekistan’s pilaf is no ordinary dish—it’s known as the “VIP meal” of the country, reserved for honored guests. Whether it’s a wedding, the birth of a child, or any special occasion, pilaf is a must. Essentially, it’s a mix of lamb, carrots, and rice, but the way it’s cooked together in one giant pot will make you question whether you’ve ever had real flavorful food before!
The pots at this Pilaf Centre are taller than a person, and the chefs use massive paddles to stir the ingredients—it’s quite a spectacle! If you’re a fan of pilaf, this place is definitely a pilgrimage, giving you the chance to experience the generous hospitality that the Uzbek people extend to their guests.
