Orthoptera is a category of nimble insects that includes grasshoppers. These are renowned for having strong hind legs that allow for amazing leaps. They are important in many environments because they consume plants, but they may also be a danger to agriculture because of their diet.

Grasshoppers are available in a variety of colors, feature its exoskeleton and antennas for senses of smell and sound. They transition from being nymphs to adults through partial metamorphosis. Their characteristic chirping noises are a kind of communication that frequently indicates territorial or reproductive claims.
