The value of Time

Hello and Namste my steemian Family,

Perhaps someone has rightly said that everything is not in our hands, without God's will even a leaf does not move.

Don't waste your time, time is money.

Our life is a web of events, many such events happen in every person's life, which we forget with time or always remain in memories. But there are some events, whose impression is imprinted on our mind forever. Today I remember one such incident, in which time played a very big role.

Actually what happened was that a dispute related to my job was going on in the Allahabad High Court of our country. In this, I had to go with my wife to plead my case, the city of the High Court, Allahabad is about 650 kilometers from my city.

At that time, the only means of transport to reach there and come back from there was train. It took about 18 hours to reach there by this train, which also included one night.

All the people of our state used to travel to the High Court every day by this train for their cases, so there was not much availability of space in this train, so it was very important to get berth reservation in advance to go there.

So before going there I had also made reservation for me and my wife for going there and coming back after 2 days.

Because I was expecting that my casework will be completed by 5 pm after 2 days.

After reaching there we found a hotel very close to the High Court and took a room to stay there, so that we can save time in travelling, and the distance from our hotel room to the railway station was also just 2 km.

From there we could easily get taxis, three wheelers or rickshaws to the station, and it took only 10 minutes to reach the station from any of them.

Everything was going according to our plan. Our casework was also almost completed and we were expecting that we will complete the work on time and return to our city.

But what happened to us was something we never expected, the day we had to return and our train time was very close, there was a slight delay in finalizing our casework.

I requested my lawyer a lot to finish my work quickly but the people there are very lazy and shirkers.

Still, considering my situation, they finished my work quickly on my request and released us about 20 or 25 minutes before the train departure.

We rushed to the hotel, quickly picked up our luggage which we had already packed and from there took a three-wheeler to the railway station and reached just in time to catch the train.

But when we ran panting and reached the platform designated for the train at 6.10 pm, we saw that the train was leaving in front of our eyes. We were only half a minute late in reaching the designated platform.

With luggage and wife, I kept watching the train leaving in front of my eyes. A time difference of just half or 1 minute had put us in great trouble. For a long time we could not understand how to deal with this situation, in those days no taxi driver was ready for such a long journey and the money was also very high.

But since we had already left the hotel and there was no point in staying there, we hired a taxi by paying a lot more than the fixed price to the taxi driver and travelled all night sitting on the taxi seat for about 20 hours and reached our city tired after about 20 hours.

So I remember that 1 minute delay all my life and now I have become so smart that I reach 1 hour before time to catch any train or plane.
The End

O God! What a close encounter that would be. I wasn't expecting this. Only 60 seconds...! You are very right about not forgetting that single minute of your life, and after reading I can also never forget that minute of your life..... time ,the only thing which we can't bring back. but sometimes an urge arises to relive a moment which we waste. if you have a chance to bring some moments back, what could it be?

Namaste/salam my friend @mehwish-almas
What an effective comment you have given on my story, only a sentimental heart can do this. Now you say that I should remember those moments which I want to live again, then there will be many such moments which I would like to live again, but by remembering those moments only the wounds of the heart will become fresh.
That is why do not dig up the dead, let them remain buried in the ocean of their peace.
As always, loving blessings and best wishes.

Indeed every second of the clock counts.. your story is one that proves this. The part where you said you had to watch the train leave before your very eyes broke me...It such a hard experience. Thanks for the invite.
