Plasm and Acala have completed the first XCMP-lite transaction on Polkadot's testnet Rococo!

We are very excited to announce that Plasm has successfully completed a cross-chain message with Acala on Rococo (Poca and Kusama's parachain test network) . The era of interoperability has arrived!

Acala, Plasm's partner in Polkadot, has also successfully run parachain on Rococo. When the two parachains are connected through Rococo's relay chain, the cross-chain case can be tested.

What we did

Aleksandr Krupenkin, chief engineer of Plasm, found some issues regarding Rococo's XCM (cross-consensus messaging). So Aleksandr submitted a PR, and his pull request was merged by Parity.

After that, we used XCMP-lite on Rococo to transfer money to Acala. We believe that XCMP is one of Polkadot's most basic components.

Acala also recently successfully transferred tokens to Laminar locally through XCM. Acala created and released an XTokens pallet as a public welfare library for token transfer in the Polkadot ecosystem, allowing any parachain to integrate with Acala.

After the initial testing phase, we implemented the XTokens module and used it in our Parachain Runtime. Our next step is to conduct XCMP-lite testing on Rococo with Acala Parachain Mandala.

We are happy to show this great milestone to the entire Polkadot ecosystem.

We are now ready to test XCMP-lite with other Polkadot ecosystem teams. Welcome friends who are interested to contact us and create history together!

About Plasm

Plasm is a scalable Polkadot smart contract platform that supports cutting-edge two-tier solutions and the Ethereum virtual machine. It is built on Substrate and is designed as a parallel chain of Polkadot. Plasm is committed to building an excellent smart contract platform that allows developers to easily build dApps on Polkadot. This is also to allow developers to build applications on Plasm without worrying about scalability.

About Acala

Acala is a decentralized financial center and stable currency on Polkadot, which can quickly and easily use or build financial applications, and improve transaction efficiency and save time. Acala provides a set of basic financial elements: a multi-guaranteed stablecoin backed by cross-chain assets such as Bitcoin, a trustless staking derivative, and a decentralized exchange to release liquidity and promote financial innovation . Acala is an open financial application platform that can use smart contracts or built-in protocols, with out-of-the-box cross-chain functions and strong security.
