I believe everyone can vividly remember the news of Dan's departure from Block.one this year.

On January 10, 2021, Dan Larime published a post on Hive announcing his resignation, and soon announced his participation in the creation of a new project Clarion. This shocking and explosive news triggered a knock-on effect in the EOS community. The future of EOS is full of uncertainties. Determine the factors.

And just this week, the former CTO who has officially announced that he has left Block.one began to interact with the community frequently in the telegram group, and reorganized his power to make the EOS community regain its past glory.

EOS Go traces the entire process of BM returning to EOS. Let’s take a look at the exciting content!

Reasons for returning to EOS

BM returns to the EOS community, and many people feel that it is both unexpected and reasonable.

When he left Block.one, BM once said that he could not express his ideas as much as possible in Block.one. Now BM is no longer working at Block.one. He feels that he can interact with the community more freely and express his ideas. . So he rejoined several EOS telegram groups, including EOS , Everything EOS , EOS Price , Bullish and a new group about his upcoming project Clarion OS .

Regarding leaving EOS, BM explained:

"The report about me leaving the EOS community is too exaggerated. I look forward to working with the community to build a path for EOS to realize my original vision." Click to view the original BM Twitter

In order to help the community itself organize ideas better, BM has also prepared a new forum where everyone can discuss freely and publish your first post. What does the name of this post mean to be a member of the EOS community?

Regarding the forum and the reasons for returning to EOS, BM further elaborated his thoughts:

"I believe that the core of a strong community is a set of common values, goals, and identities. When we join a community, each of us is contributing to the establishment of the community.
When I first conceived EOS, I envisioned a community based on the principles of life, freedom, property, equality and justice for all. I want to work with people to create a new mutual assistance system in which we use smart contracts to reduce disputes.
I stand here today, hoping to unite a divided society and move forward together. I stand here and ask everyone to join me in making the EOS community the most enjoyable and fulfilling place.
What are you looking for in the community? What help can you provide to make the EOS community the best community? "

Interested users can participate in the discussion on the forum and express your thoughts on the development of EOS.

Details of returning to EOS

According to BM, the reorganization of EOS community power will be carried out on the new roadmap, and this work can be formulated by the community itself.

"I hope to work with the community to establish a community roadmap that includes the elements brought by B1, but allows us to move forward independently."

In various controversies, some community members said that they would convene a developer team from the EOS community and use a new fund to support this team to develop parallel services provided by Block.one. That is: Block.one will be able to continue operations as it is now, bringing updates to the EOSIO software.

New EOS community governance proposal

Subsequently, BM proposed a new draft EOS community governance proposal , which outlines the process of reviewing and appointing individuals to control the distribution of EOS tokens.

The new governance model is based on the concept mentioned in his book "More Equal Creatures - The Delicate Art of Real Democracy", and it defines the meaning of community members more strictly:

According to the draft, to obtain an invitation from an existing member and confirmation from two other members, the new member must be approved by at least one elected official. In addition, every 10% increase in the community will automatically trigger an election, and before the end of the election, no new members can formally join. Each election will allow each member to invite or approve a maximum of 20 people, and the election will be held at least once a year.

Regarding this system, BM said in the original text:

"At the beginning of each election, all members are divided into groups of 10 according to the principle of random allocation, and the members in each group who get 80% of the votes become first-level elected officials. Then, all first-level officials are randomly assigned into groups of 10. Again, vote according to the above rules to elect a second-level elected official. Repeat this process until there are fewer than 10 people.
The final representative group (less than 10 people) will select 1 president and 2 joint vice presidents according to the 2/3+1 voting rule. In this way, there are three people who together form the foundation of governance (the Big Three).
Any action taken by the Big Three must be approved by the president and at least one vice president. "

Conclusion

After BM shared his own governance ideas, many people felt very confused and said:

"Adding a complex invitation mechanism to the EOS community will help improve the quality of community members, but the threshold for joining EOS has also been greatly increased. Is this really good for EOS?"

But there are still many people who are very optimistic about this:

"As the founder of EOS, I believe that no one knows EOS better than BM, and BM also said that his original aspirations have not changed. I hope to use the power of the community to turn EOS into the best community. I look forward to it."
