Community is What You Will Need To Survive the Next Disaster

It used to be quite the talk in prepper channels to have a fallout shelter.
Then it was quite the talk to have a bug-out location.

So, when the sheep hit the rotating air moving device...

You would run out to your place in the woods/desert and be safe as society, and the cities collapsed.

Well, today, society and the cities are collapsing, and many people are still hoping to get out just before the poo starts flying.

However, bugging out at the last moment will not work. Because, you might "own" that piece of property out in the middle of no-where, but when you come out there, with your car so packed you can't adjust your seat, all the people already out there are going to see you as a city person coming to take all their stuff, or be a burden for years, eating them out of house and home, or, in other words, the enemy.

You cannot wait till the last moment to bug-out.

What we really need to survive the coming collapse / apocalypse is community.

A one man show doesn't work. Even the best builder is not good at everything, nor has all the tools.
And what happens if you have an accident?

Things are breaking down. Grocery stores won't be around for much longer. The idea of paying money to get food in a city will become a strange idea. And if that wasn't bad enough, what will be money in the future?

Then along comes FedNow (CBDCs) and food rationing. Now you will need an "EBT card" to get food.
Then, you will need to make sure your social credit score doesn't go to low, or no food for you.

In order to avoid this, you are going to need a group of people you know, and can trust, so that you can acquire needed things while the world reorganizes itself.

And to do this, you need to get, physically, into the community, and get to know the people. Let them get to know you. This takes time.

You really cannot show up at the last second and expect things to go well.

The apocalypse we are facing is not a short thing where we can survive it, and then all go back to what we were doing.

All the things that are happening now are world changing. There will be no part of what we have today that you can go back to.

Take for instance malls. Those glorious places, with tiny stores, that had everything. Acres of sparkly merchandise. It was THE thing in the 80s. Now the big stores there are Wallymart and Targét. The malls are all but gone. So it will be with everything we take for granted as city dwellers.

Most suburbs will become barren wastelands.
All the small stores are going.
Big stores are shutting many stores
Walk in, choose the stuff yourself, supermarkets will be a thing you can tell your children about.
Restaurants will be completely different.
Roads will be left in disrepair
Corporations will be gone within 50 years

That corporate job will be gone. The McMansions and the big SUVs will be useless.
All the reasons why we stay in the cities will be gone.

So, you can get out now while Escape From NY is still a movie,
or you can wait and see if you are able to escape when it turns really bad.

There is getting less every day of things to hold onto in the cities.

This next era of humanity's life is going to be about finding your "Family". Those people who share your principals, who work with you to provide all that is needed for the Family.

The outsourcing of labor to some faceless, nameless corporate entity is over.
We can no longer afford this kind of behaviour.
We cannot rely on a group of people that do not have our best interest in mind.
Especially now, when many of these places do not have our interest in mind, they would rather see us dead.

We will need people, friends, Family to be there for us.

And the earlier you can start a community, the better it will be for when things really start to get bad.

So, forget the bug-out idea. Get out of the cities permanently.
