Let us say no great war happens within America, and no great die-off happens (like the VAXXXed) and Social inSecurity doesn't go belly up… we still have a huge problem facing America. All the baby boomers are retiring.
- The retirement will start to be drained
- Tons of houses will be dumped on the market
- Someone will have to look after these people
The largest group, with the largest wealth tied up are about the loose the hounds of hell.
We are not prepared. We are not ready.
And the single family, nuclear 💥 family, experiment is coming to an end, and the desolation is bad.
The Boomers and their vacation homes
The Boomers were the last generation where people of upper middle class all talked about having vacation homes.
Imagine having two houses, when the latest generation is talking about tiny homes, sharing rooms, and see house ownership as a fantasy. A dream like winning the lottery.
Well, all these homes are about to hit the market.
No one is vacationing. Air BnBs are getting hit hard.
Boomers are getting elderly. Where they need assistance living. So they will need to move to elderly communities. And so, they will be selling their houses.
This deluge of houses is going to flood the market, while high interest rates are driving buyers away.
If nothing else happens, this alone will drop the price of houses by half.
For all of those who are without a house, this is great news, when can it happen?
For those who are barely hanging onto a house, they are all going to soon be underwater. And when underwater, that is when tons of foreclosures happen because people will just walk away instead of pouring money down a hole. So, even more houses on the market.
Very disruptive to the economy this will be.
Retirement accounts ARE the stock market
The price of stocks floats on top of the sea of money that is looking for investment.
Again, the latest generation is like, what retirement account? I can't make enough for food, gas and rent.
The stock market is going to be going down. Not because of anything happening to spook the market, but just the funds being drained because the boomers have to pull money out. (have to, it is a requirement of retirement accounts)
And so, the stock market will go down and down and down.
I expect people to freak out and pull their investments out, and then it will go down faster.
And boomers will be left without any money in their retirement.
As well as all the other people in the economy. We will all be broke together.
Where are boomers going to retire to?
We do not have enough retirement communities to house all of these boomers.
And since they abandoned their families to be free hippies, are their families going to take care of them in old age?
There aren't enough retirement houses
There aren't enough retirement service providers
There aren't enough retirement workers
There aren't enough nurses
There aren't enough doctors and hospitals
When this group of people starts breaking down, there just isn't enough of a retirement industry / medical industry to handle it. And there won't be enough money to fund building this industry up.
What will we do about this?
Many of the younger generation are going to be loathe to help out a group of people who basically abandoned them. Latch-key kids. Divorced devastated children. Children that had to share their mother's attention with a job. Children who may have never seen their father.
This group of people, the results of the nuclear 💥 family failed experiment are going to abandon the boomers like they were abandoned.
I have already buried my parents, so i no longer have to deal with this, however, i have no one who will support me if i become old and crippled.
What we will do? How will we solve this?
The biggest problem is we are not going to work through this with my stated assumptions for this blog.
I expect to see currency collapses, mass VAXXX die-offs, wars, civil wars, food riots along with this.
I expect to hear of retirement communities which were just not gotten to soon enough after the power went out, fighting broke out, what have you, where you get to the place and it is just corpses. And that is the people who were able to pay for, and got into a community. The lucky ones.
We won't make any of the hard decisions about what to do about helpless boomers, because we have bigger problems to deal with.
The nuclear 💥 family experiment will end badly.
We just do not have the resources to deal with it.
I can only hope that through these hard times, people find better ways to live together.
