The experiment that set the stage for the entire 20th century. The lynch-pin that has caused scientists to waste 100 years. The Michelson-Morley Experiment to prove the Luminiferous Aether.
Their experiment was to shoot a light that got split into two different paths, and if we are passing through the luminiferous aether, then one path should take longer than the other, and the light would come back and produce a interference pattern.
The results were not what they expected. There wasn't much of a interference pattern. About a ⅒th of what they expected. So, after much thinking… they announced that they found nothing. (it must be instrument error)
So, these two chaps found something, and then called it nothing.
They also did the bare minimum repetitions to call it an experiment.
Barely an experiment, assuming that the aether effects light, and only testing one aether model, finding something and calling it nothing, then BLAM:
the Aether doesn't exist, the science is settled. No one can question this for 100 years.
If this was a paper done in university, the professor would give them an F.
However, all the rock-e-person publicists all published that the aether didn't exist. That M-M and their experiment was brilliant. And all the text books said plainly, that the aether doesn't exist.
So many scientists actually said such. But since Rock-e-person had control of the text books and colleges, M-M became the word, the final word.
Unfortunately, this isn't where it ended.
Then Einstein got ahold of this, and "thought up" (read plagiarized) the theory of relativity.
And after Vera Rubins discovers the stars in a galaxy spin as if the stars were glued to a plate… then we got Dark matter, then dark energy. So much stuff going the wrong way because of M-M.
Aether theories are starting to make a return. And with them, the physics becomes so much easier to understand and so much more simplex. None of this crazy, time and space stretching to make things work.
Aether theories explain magnetism easily. While Einsteinian physics explains how magnets attract each other with "unicorn particles." (particles that exist, like the unicorn exists; a particle that shoots out from one atom, which strikes another atom, drawing it closer)
Even the strange aether theories are better than our current science. The better aether theories are way better. As in, the modern materialistic physics text book will be thrown out. It is just a matter of time.
Nikola Tesla warned us back over a hundred years ago. He called Einstein a fuzzy haired crackpot.
It is full time we went back to the Aether Theories and start actually doing some science.
