Most face masks won’t stop COVID-19 indoors, study warns

New research reveals that cloth masks filter just 10% of exhaled aerosols, with many people not wearing coverings that fit their face properly.

Researchers theorize many people wear masks that don’t fit their face properly. As a result, many cloth and surgical masks only filter about 10 percent of exhaled aerosols. The rest make their way past the mask, most through the top, and spread into the surrounding environment. Conversely, higher-quality, more expensive N95 and KN95 masks filter over 50 percent of all aerosol droplets.

Most of you probably already know that logic and science doesn't apply when it comes to dealing with covid. Governments use the masking of their citizens to pretend they're making it safer for the public when in reality that's not really the case. You can look at a graph of when a country locked down, required masks, the number of covid cases and it will show no decline or flattening of the curve only case going up up and up.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that these cloth and cheap masks are ineffective because all you have to do is walk around a store to see kids, adults and employees wearing them incorrectly or they don't fit properly. Masks are only effective if you been trained to properly wear one and you throw them away after a certain amount of use. They general public never been trained or is clueless in this. In my mind social distancing and washing your hands often is the simplest option for kids and untrained adults.

In light of these findings study authors recommend that everyone wear a N95 or KN95 mask if possible whenever indoors in the company of others.

The author is crazy in my mind and I doubt they even follow their own recommendation. An N95 masks is designed to last what maybe 8 to 12 hrs and their not cheap either. So asking people to wear them indoors and spend hundreds of dollars on masks isn't practical in my mind. Also trained professionals that can use them correctly and are at higher risk need these masks more than the public does. We don't want a shortage in medical mask because some government official says you need to wear the most effective mask possible to stop covid and the public buys up all these masks that they don't even know how to use properly.

It's all nanny state politics designed to make it seems like the government is doing something to protect the public but again science and common sense says otherwise.
