Language Barrier

I am having difficulty navigating Steemit due to the language barrier. Most of steemit's top-trending and highest-rated posts are written in someone's native language, but not translated in to other locales/languages. That obviously limits engagement internationally, and relegates replies/votes/interactions to only steemit users who read/write in the same language as a post's author.

I'm tired of the American community, and I've only been in it for a day. I can't be the only US Steemit user who feels this way, can I? This community is filled the same handful of users posting the same-ole tiresome Ameri-centric political opinions. It just feels like it defeats the purpose of steemit to spend time in such a homogeneous and boring community when there are bloggers from other countries creating content and sharing insights that would probably be of great value to Steemit users who read/write in a different native language.

If we can break down the language barrier, steemit wouldn't be siloed in to communities based strictly on nationality and native-linguistics. Steemit can be a force for breaking down barriers/borders and fostering a sense of one-ness with people who are not from a specific country.

We have to be able to exchange ideas and communicate with each other regardless of whether or not we can read/write in the same language. A real-time translation service or product would empower every Steemit user. It would facilitate the free flow of knowledge, ideas, and culture. It would forge relationships between people who may never have gotten a chance to meet otherwise.

I love that Steemit is not an Ameri-centric platform. It really is a global alliance. I just wish we as American steemit users could learn from folks across the globe: who knows what we're missing when we can't interact with the vast majority of popular/trending posts that originated in any language besides English.

The American steemit community seems to be pretty insular and isolationist- not necessarily beneficial for Steemit's global community/marketplace. Social media and cryptocurrency is supposed to break down sovereign borders and forge an international exchange of free-thought and information.

Is there any plan to address the language barrier that seems to create nationalist silos on Steemit? Any data gathered regarding the most used languages or native countries of steemit's user base? Perhaps from there steemit's founders/backers could recruit linguists and start translating top-rated content in to multiple languages, so that all users can benefit from all blog posts and replies.

I want to learn and engage with people who have different and new perspectives, insights, and information. It took me less than an hour to run out of posts, and I'm already tired of reading ill- informed domestic political opinions. I would go to Facebook if that's what I wanted to see! Steemit can be so much more to American steemit users than an echo-chamber for right-wing isolationists.

Steemit is, by design, a GLOBAL forum. Americans are a small part of that community, and we should probably spend more time trying to understand the rest of the world, and less time shouting in to own echo-chamber/bubble.

Ye... I found how to set up a translation management platform such as Translate com. This one is the best as it comes with the developer-friendly approach, and there is also a shared translation feature that can translate your app/project to up to many languages for free at least partly.
