Dear Steemians.
Advice/guidance required please.
When this criminal action took place by Justin Sun, bribing some exchanges to illegally lock in and vote with their customers STEEM, i stormed twitter along with many others. Once i heard binance had removed their votes and there was a chance to get the old real witness back in power, i decided to vote tactically. Basically i removed my votes from all the witness with low witness voting power (MV) who i had previously chosen based on my feeling having previously read their witness posts (sorry guys, I will review my votes again once we have hard-forked and changed the governance so this cannot happen again), and voted instead for the witnesses who had the highest votes, so therefore more chance of getting back into the top 20 witnesses. Basically i voted for all the witnesses (not disabled) who were immediately below the fake witnesses running 22.5.
I review this at least twice a day to see if i need to make adjustments.
Now i see that i have voted for 6 of the top 7 real witnesses and am wondering if it is safe for me to remove my votes from some or all of them, without losing their places in the top 7, and thereby be able to vote for more witnesses who are immediately below the fake witness running 22.5.
I caution anyone reading this not to attempt to do this until more knowledgeable advice is received, perhaps from @aggroed @blocktrades @good-karma or any other witnesses or other Steemians who understand the voting system better than i.
I have 37,000 effective SP but i think it's the amount of MVests i have (whatever they are) which affect the power of my vote to the witnesses. I've seen this somewhere before i thought on Steemworld but now can't see where to find the info or interpret it. So, i would need to be sure i would not reduce top witnesses MV by too much for them to lose their place before unvoting and revoting elsewhere.
I also realise that if this way of voting tactically was done indiscriminately, without co-ordination/advice by perhaps a small team of real witnesses, then it could definitely have negative effects.
So, i ask, can anyone co-ordinate us real Steemians on how to best vote tactically. @roelandp @yabapmatt @anyx @someguy123 @ausbitbank @themarkymark @alchemage perhaps?

I love Steem
Who am i?
Steem On!
just keep your votes on the real T20, all of them, or T30 I guess! As @cardboard said.
MVests are roughly double your steem power - to the top right on this link

I don't really get how MVESTS correlated to SP either, but the former is the basis of how rewards are distributed, not SP, at least I think...?!?
Sorry to say you and I have next to no influence over these witnesses.
Before this whole Tron shit storm kicked off it was nearly impossible to be a T20 witness without either a vote from @pumpkin or @blocktrades, so you could look at it as 2 accounts controlling the chain.
I think aggro was the only person to have been in the T20 without either.
Outside of those two, the next 50 or so have massive impact, but by the time yer out of the top 500, you're small-fry. NB You're probably around rank 500 by SP/ MVEST atm.
So in the good old days it was at least twice as decentralised.
This all helps explain why you get people upset at how things used to be and pro-Justin, because the previous status quo wasn't meaningfully decentralised, not in the slightest.
Although we're kind of good at believing our own myths!

Thanks for the explanation.
If we can get the witnesses to study the Matrix-8 Platform and see how not only can it solve the current governance issues but also send Steem into orbit and save the world, then to adopt it for @steemgovernance, world peace and abundance for all will soon be here :-)

Absolutely not, please keep the votes up. You have 30 votes, please upvote all the old top witnesses :)
Thank you for using your stake to protect the steem blockchain! !tip 1 steem

I have used all my votes and I won't remove any from top witnesses unless I get absolute positive this is best thing to do. Tanks for your reply

IMO its best to use your 30 votes for the top 30 real human witnesses. Don't REMOVE a vote unless that witness has dropped below the top 30 humans.

The Steem blockchain is currently being attacked by a central authority in order to take control of the witnesses. If you are not managing your witness votes, please consider setting @berniesanders as your witness voting proxy by clicking here to help restore the decentralization of Steem.

MVests are your investment into the blockchain equivalent to the amount of SP you have. I don’t think it’s a good idea to remove any votes because then it may do exactly what you mentioned, drop the candidate lower. We need to have each witness having greater SP backing them than all of Tron’s witnesses. Though I could be wrong, so maybe someone with greater knowledge might have different advice.
