Hello everyone.

Question 1.

According to this question public hospital are owned by the government and these offer their services to the public irrespective of the ability of the individuals to pay for their services so the patient care in these hospitals may also take a longer time especially on elective surgeries and they might hire a less number of nurses to attend to the patients.

Then in Private hospitals are financed by private resources and usually, they provide less waiting time, much more focused attention, and many more numbers of registered nurse per patient. In addition, private hospitals are more inclined to provide numerous additional facilities and services mainly because they determined to make a profit. Therefore, generally, it can be stated that the private hospitals are thought to deliver better standard of service owing to their resources and attention to the satisfaction of consumer and that the public hospitals are oriented to be accessible to everyone.

In your country, how the cost of treatment is different from private and public hospitals?

In Nigeria, depending on where one gets treatment, the cost of treatment may be very different from one hospital to another especially private owned hospitals and government owned hospitals which is public. Private hospitals are normally well equipped and offer better services and better ambiance as compared to public hospitals but they cost a lot more.

Embrace private hospitals while their service delivery is efficient and timely than the public sector ones, they are quite expensive. On the other hand, public hospitals in Nigeria are cheaper than private hospitals since; they may also take time to treat patients, lack equipment’s and may not offer quality services. Crossing through private hospitals is more costly as they are endowed with quality and services while going through the public hospitals are cheaper but standard.

Which type of hospital do you prefer for regular check-ups, and why?

Sometimes I use private hospitals for normal health checks because the services delivered to me are fast and the reason I preferred it is due to short waiting time that is common with private facilities, so I could be attended to on time. This efficiency is especially important for normal check up so that any health issue that may be present is detected and dealt with early.

Also private hospitals are normally well equipped and comfortable, which makes me feel very comfortable each time am attending a hospital so due to quick and quality services that are offered by private hospital they are my most preferred choice for routine health checks to guarantee that all my medical needs are well attended to timely.

Have you ever been hospitalized? How was your experience?

I have never been hospitalized before I'm very privileged that I have never been hospitalized since and I have never been admitted in the hospital because of severe sickness. So this I am grateful for and pray as much as possible I do not fall ill and I do not have a case that requires me to be admitted in the hospital. Taking care of my health involves exercising, eating balanced meal and making sure that I go for my check-ups often. I never want to go through being admitted in the hospital and grateful for not experiencing a serious sickness.
