“Home Executive!”

I bet I got your attention with this fancy title.

I call myself a home executive which is actually just a fancy name I gave for housewife or homemaker. Never in my wildest dream did I thought of myself as a housewife and that one day I can add it to my CV. Can I?

For 30 years of my life I was spoiled with a domestic worker who did the basic things like cleaning, washing and cooking. Recently I decided that I want to start a new chapter in my life. I want to be at home and no longer at the office. I want to cook and I want to bake and I want to spoil my family.

Little did I know what I am letting myself in for.

I invite you to a day in my life as a “Home Executive”

And that my dear Steemian friends is my job as a “Home Executive”.

Oh yah, I failed to mention that in between, I write, I reply, I support and I MOD on Steemit.

I did a bit of research of what is required of a homemaker when they apply for a position;

Require	Yes or No
High school diploma	✅
5+ years' experience	❌
Certificate in First Aid	❌
Numerous references	❌

It is clear that I will not get a job somewhere else so I better not complain or I will get fired with nowhere to go. Worse, I might get told to sleep outside.

What make me so cross is that even in the 21st century people have the wrong perspective of what a housewife do and so often they are looked down upon.

My biggest obstacle

There is only one BIG obstacle and that is… Father Time. I expect that time in our house is it not going tick… tick… tick. Nope it is running!

In a survey done in the USA it was found that two-thirds of humans always thought that they were rushed. I feel the same. I have learned to count every precious minute in my life.

There is often not enough time to sit down and have a cup tea. I take my hat off to all the housewives. Where they find time for exercising, socializing and going to a hairdresser I truly don’t know.

I'm wrong! There are two things!

I almost forgot the monkeys. Running to close doors and windows when I hear them on the roof is for sure another obstacle.

Am I enjoying what I am doing?

Yes, I am!

I must be crazy, a businesswomen who had her own businesses since the age of 21 now doing housework.

▷ I am glad that I have chosen to put my family first for the first time in my life. It makes me feel special.

▷ I am learning that the small things in life count.

▷ I am learning about a different stress than boardroom stress.

▷ I am learning to keep schedule of what must be done and what groceries must be bought.

▷ I am learning that it is only me and my family and not 30+ staff I must take care of.

My hope

▷ I hope for people to have respect for housewives.

▷ I hope for all housewives to get acknowledge for performing a full time job.
