Money plays an important role in human life. We need money to continue in life. When we are young we cannot earn money. But when we grow up to take care of the family we have to earn money either for ourselves or for the family. Money we can earn up to a certain time. As many people earn money by doing a lot of scams at a young age.

Many work and earn money. But in old age we can no longer earn money. Then it becomes very difficult to move in our society. So we all need to save money before we get old. Because if we save money before old age then we will have that money in old age and can spend as per our need. And if we don't do that then we will face many problems in old age. If you have money then surely society will value you. So we need to save money. So we need to save money by any means. And I am firmly committed to this.

Do you also save money? What ways you have adopted to save money?

I was addicted to depositing money in small banks since my childhood. Especially I used to deposit money in clay bank. I have been interested in saving money since childhood. Of course I save money. When I was in class 10, my mother opened a bank account for me.

There is a bank in our neighboring upazila and I deposit 1000 taka per month in that bank. First of all my mother told me this is your long term plan. I also thought to myself that I will take a long term plan. Based on that I made a plan to deposit money in that bank for 30 years. As a result I then went to that bank and opened an account and deposited money there. Every month I deposit 1000 rupees there.

I know it is a very small amount but it will play a very important role for me in the future. Also, currently I have opened an account in another bank. In that bank I deposit or save 500 rupees per month. Bank may give me a good amount after 30 years in my 30 year account. With JT I can do business in future and I can support my family.

What are different ways that was used to save money in past?

I have saved money in different ways in the past. I am sharing them with you.

  • First of all I went once to our village fair. I went there and saw small banks made of different types of clay. I bought those banks and started depositing money in those banks. First I started depositing small coins, one rupee, two rupees and three rupees in that bank. Then slowly I started depositing big money in the bank. After two or three years it was seen that the bank would be full. Then I would break into the bank and take out the deposits. I saw a lot of money. I used to count them well and do something good with that money.
  • Again, I used to save money with my mother. My mother used to tell me that there is no need to spend money unnecessarily. You give me money and I will keep your money well. So I trusted my mother and sometimes gave money to save. After two to three months like this, my mother used to give me a very good amount of money. That's how I used to save money.
  • Another way to save money is my drawer. I still remember when I was a child I had a big drawer in my room. I used to keep money in that drawer. The drawer was slightly broken. With that broken mouth I used to put the money inside the drawer. Later when the drawer was full I would take the money out of that drawer and do something good with it. That's how I bought a bicycle which was a milestone in my life.
