Interpol is full meaning International Police Organization. Interpol is an international organization of police forces. In 1923, the international police force was set up in Vienna, Austria, to improve and modernize the police departments of 50 countries around the world and to quickly identify criminals and bring them to justice. Which is called Interpol for short. It is headquartered in Leo, France. During the Second World War, it was shut down due to political problems in various countries, but resumed operations in 1948. Interpol has a General Assembly. Interpol sessions are held in different countries at different times. Bangladesh became a member in 1986. And currently there are 194 member countries of Interpol.

The following are the various functions and goals of Interpol:

  • To co-operate with the police force in apprehending criminals

  • Repatriation of a politically asylum seeker on the basis ofBangladesh**gotiations between the member states

  • Mutual cooperation between member countries in crime investigation

  • To strengthen the suppression of crime in the world and to maintain peace and order in the life of the citizens

  • One country should cooperate with the other so that the criminals of one country cannot hide in another country.
