Captain Kidd: A pirate sentenced to death or an unfortunate sailor?

The person in question is William Kidd, better known as Captain Kidd. Adventurous explorers, ruthless pirates, ruthless robbers are all adjectives used with his name. Later, many historians wanted to refute the allegations of piracy brought against him.

William Kidd was born in 1855 in Dundee, Scotland. Adventure has been his companion since childhood. His innate attraction to the sea and the life of a sailor became the reason for his long eventful life. The lure of good fortune once brought him to British-ruled New York. Here, in addition to the head of the colonial government, he got acquainted with various rich and powerful people.

Using the formula of skill and identity, the sailor started the adventure phase of his life. The Caribbean Sea became his workplace. During this time, he cooperated as a privateer in the confrontation between British and French forces over the North American seas. Marie Galate, one of the strongholds of the French power, was attacked and successfully captured. He was rewarded for his success in the Caribbean.

In the year 1895 AD came. In North America, the British administration became concerned about the growing piracy in the New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire areas. Besides, there was the threat of French power. Governor Richard Coot called for William Kidd to be appointed to crack down on piracy. During this time there was animosity between his aides and the officers of the British navy for some reason. This animosity never subsided later, but rather created a field of some other non-occurrence.

1897 AD. William Kidd decided to sail to Africa in the hope of changing fortunes. He thought that he would have some success in curbing piracy in this area. But as soon as he arrived in Comoros, the cholera epidemic killed most of his subordinates. His ship also suffered a lot of damage as a result of the long voyage. Kid was looking dark in the eyes.

The constant failure was not leaving him behind. Several enemy ships were attacked and faced great misfortune. Meanwhile, many of his fellow passengers secretly became active against him. William Kidd angrily stabbed one of his subordinate sailors to death over a dispute over a Dutch merchant ship attack.

Meanwhile, notoriety spread in England itself in the name of Kid and his companions. One of the sources of these notoriety was the various complaints of the fleeing sailors. Allegations of looting and torture, especially on the passengers of the ship attacked by his assistant, spread like wildfire throughout England.All the incredible tales of Captain Kidd's formidable piracy are made. He became a breath-taking and iconic legend of piracy in Europe and North America.
