Gaudí decidió relacionar a la religión católica para la cual construía el templo, con la naturaleza. De esta manera, intentó imitar a esta última en las diferentes partes de la Iglesia. > *Gaudí decided to relate the Catholic religion for which he built the temple, with nature. Ni bien entré en ella, lo primero que me impactó, fueron los colores. No hay lugar en la Iglesia que adquiera una tonalidad neutra.

As soon as I entered it, the first thing that struck me was the colors. No place in the Church acquires a neutral hue.

Aunque se trata de una armonía única, debo reconocer que sentí un tinte de misterio y suspenso al empezar a caminar. Pero fue una sensación positiva. Como querer ir más allá, saber qué iba a pasar, qué más iba a ver.

Although it is a unique harmony, I must admit that I felt a touch of mystery and suspense when I started walking. But it was a positive feeling. Like wanting to go further, knowing what was going to happen, what else was I going to see.

Estar ahí dentro es como permanecer en otra realidad, en otra dimensión.

Being in there is like staying in another reality, in another dimension.

Los colores se deben a los vitrales que se extienden a lo largo de todo el Templo, con un predominio de colores rojo, azul, verde, amarillo (todos ellos en distintas tonalidades). Estos son los colores de la naturaleza.

The colors are due to the stained glass windows that extend throughout the entire Temple, with a predominance of red, blue, green, yellow (all in different shades). These are the colors of nature.

De acuerdo a cómo da la luz del sol, los colores van combinándose dentro de la Sagrada Familia, y mutando de lugar.

According to how the sunlight gives, the colors are combining inside the Sagrada Familia, and changing places.

Es una danza de colores.

It is a dance of colors.

Esto no es azaroso, sino que cada color tiene un significado, los azules que se iluminan con el amanecer y representan, junto con los tonos verdosos, el nacimiento de la vida. Luego esto va mutando hacia los cálidos rojos del lado de Poniente, lo que simboliza el clímax y el fin que sigue, representando de este modo la sangre y la Pasión de Cristo.

Each color has its meaning, the blues that light up with the dawn and represent, together with the greenish tones, the birth of life. Then this changes to the warm reds on the west side, symbolizing the climax and the end that follows, thus representing the blood and Passion of Christ.

Además, en el interior se ven muchas columnas, que representan a los árboles. El material de las mismas, es roca volcánica muy dura, que se llama pórfido rojo. Era necesario que se tratara de un material resistente, porque las 5 torres centrales de la Sagrada Familia se sostienen por estas columnas.

• Also, inside there are many columns, representing the trees. Their material is a very hard volcanic rock, which is called red porphyry. It needed to be a resistant material because the 5 central towers of the Sagrada Familia are supported by these columns.*

Frente al altar (hay que tener en cuenta que la Iglesia es enorme y cuando digo “frente a”, me refiero a que, en dirección opuesta al altar, pero lejos), hay cuatro animales que representan a los cuatro apóstoles. Aquí dejo fotos de algunos de ellos.

In front of the altar (you should know that the Church is enormous and when I say "in front of", I mean that, in the opposite direction to the altar, but far away), there are four animals that represent the four apostles. Here I leave photos of some of them:

• Marcos es representado por un león
• Lucas es representado por el toro
• Juan está representado por un águila
• Mateo es el único que fue representado por un ángel, lo que hace alusión a su perfección

Mi color preferido es el añil, y este vitral literalmente, me enamoró. Pasé un buen rato contemplando el color que se estaba formando gracias a la coloración del vidrio y a la luz solar En ese moment.

My favorite color is indigo, and this stained glass window made me fall in love. I spent a good time contemplating the color that was forming thanks to the staining of the glass and sunlight at that time.

Además, los cuatro evangelistas han sido representados con cuatro columnas, con el animal o ser que representa a cada uno.

Con respecto al altar, en el centro se encuentra un trono suspendido, y allí está Jesús crucificado. Pero en vez e mirar hacia abajo, como en la mayoría e las representaciones, se encuentra mirando al cielo, pidiendo el apoyo de Dios.

About the altar, in the center, is a suspended throne, and there is Jesus crucified. But instead of looking down, as in most representations, he finds himself looking up to heaven, asking for God's support.

Gaudí abrazó la creación y la historia de la religión católica con esta obra. Aunque me atrevo a decir que fue aún más allá de la religión. Él toma a la fuerza de la Naturaleza como la Madre, de la cual surge todo lo demás.

Gaudí embraced the creation and history of the Catholic religion with this work. Although I dare say that it was even beyond religion. He takes the fierceness of Nature as the Mother, from which everything else arises.
