The Secret is touching and a feel-good movie. The overall story line is interesting and doesn't get too slow; however, I thought the conflict of the movie was a little anti-climatic. The "secret" is not that surprising or game-changing as it's presented to be. I felt that The Secret was a little too suspenseful for the less than dramatic reveal of the secret. But with regards to the acting, I think that Josh Lucas portrayed his Bray Johnson well, safely missing the weird-stalker-dude to hitting the kind, warm friend. Though his character was a little preachy, especially to kids, but since he acted as a father figure to the kids, I can accept it.
With regards to the character development, I enjoyed the dynamic relationship that Miranda and Bray, and how it evolved as they spent more time together. But I have to call out Miranda's boyfriend: he doesn't have much growth as a character, and he's acts as the jealous, over-protective boyfriend for most of the movie.
Overall, this is nice movie.
