Enola Holmes is clever and entertaining mystery movie.
This is one of movies where the characters steal the show and draw attention away from the slightly overcomplicated plot towards the charm and wit of the characters. There seems to be two plots going on, and despite some attempts to clarify that with description pages, the two plots were still mushed together throughout. However, I loved Millie Bobby Brown's acting and it's her character that makes the story work. She really brings Enola Holmes to life, as a clever, resolute, and well-educated young woman, who can answer back to any man. I love strong, female characters! Her breaking the fourth wall, talking directly the audience and knowing that she's in a movie makes the movie more interesting and fun, although it doesn't add anything in particular to the storyline. Henry Cavill also shines in this movie with his slightly more nuanced portrayal of Sherlock, more caring and more empathetic. His character definitely becomes more open to reform and liberal beliefs by the end of the movie.
Overall, this movie is definitely worth your time.
