Being an Introvert
It is a very interesting topic. But before learning about an introvert we should know what a “Personality” is.

Personality

So it is basically individual differences in way of thinking, way of behaving and expressing emotions is known as personality.

What is an Introvert?

A person with personality type known as Introversion is known as introvert. This means that these people are more comfortable in their own thoughts and are more comfortable alone rather than being in a large group. It means they are happier internally and they don’t find it interesting whatever is happening externally around them.
When we hear a word introvert, the first thing that comes in our mind is that the person might be shy or he lacks confidence or he prefers to be alone, but believe me there is a lot more than that in this topic.

Signs that a person is Introvert

I have read that almost one-third of the people in US are introverts. How they know that they are introverts? Well there might be some signs that indicate that if a person is introvert or not. Basic signs noticed by me in my life when being around introverts are:

• They are self-aware.
• They have very few friends but are very close with them.
• Mostly prefer their own company.
• Avoid large gatherings and groups.
• Their imaginations are very strong and they also have the ability to find a solution to their problems in their strong imaginations.
• They prefer to write rather than talking.
There might be more of these signs that indicate introversion in my life I have just observed these. I think most of you can relate to this.

Causes of Introversion

It took me hours to find any logical and scientific explanation so I ended up finding this.

Scientists don't know for sure if there's a cause for introversion or extroversion. What they do know is the brains of the two personality types work a little differently from each other. Researchers have found that introverts have a higher blood flow to their frontal lobe than extroverts do. This part of the brain helps you remember things, solve problems, and plan ahead. Introvert brains also react differently to dopamine than extrovert brains do. That's a chemical that turns on the reward- and pleasure-seeking part of your brain. Introverts and extroverts have the same amount of the chemical, but extrovert brains get an excited buzz from their reward center. Introverts, on the other hand, tend to just feel run-down by it.

Types of Introverts:

As I mentioned above that this topic is far vaster than we expect it to be. Some introverts also have some extroverted traits, some are far more introverted than others. They fall in different categories. There are some types of introverts which I am going to discuss.

SOCIAL INTROVERTS

The introverts who fall in this category prefer small groups and gatherings and are close with very few people.

ANXIOUS INTROVERTS

The introverts who fall in this category prefer alone time not because they are happy being alone and comfortable but also because they are shy and awkward.

THINKING INTROVERTS

The introverts who fall in this category are somewhat daydreamers they spend their time thinking and imagining scenarios. They have the most creative imaginations.

INHIBITED INTROVERTS

The introverts who fall in this category think a lot. Because of thinking a lot they also take a lot of time to take decisions.

What I have learned is that you can’t completely change yourself from introvert to extrovert. But with time your thinking and ways of living change so because of that you might more or less introverted.

Myths about an Introvert

As it is a very detailed topic so everyone thinks differently about it. This difference is thinking sometimes ends up in resulting myths that somehow seem true but in actual they are not.

It’s hard to know Introverts

This is not true all the time. Like introverts are close with some people who they trust and love and they feel comfortable in opening up to close people. They try to keep themselves away from people who start with a small talk. So to know an introvert develop a relation of best friendship.

Introverts Are Not Friendly

We should not consider that being friendly depends on being introvert or extrovert. Yeah it’s true that introverts don’t have large gatherings and they are close with few people. If you want to see how friendly they are just observe their friendship with the people they are close with. You will surely get your answer.

No Leadership in Introverts

It’s true that when you think of a leader you always imagine a person who is extroverted, he should be comfortable in talking with everyone. But that doesn’t mean that a introvert person can’t possess leadership skills. They have some qualities by which they can also shine as a leader. They are highly imaginative, with their imaginations they can surely think what’s best for business. They can stay focused on their goals and people may accept them in this role of being a leader.

Conclusion
If I try to sum up all that I have learned so far I can say that being an introvert is not a sign of anything negative or something to be ashamed of. It is a part of personality and it’s somewhat natural as well.
