Integrity Test

How far are you willing to go to prove that you are honest as a person?
Does our society value integrity these days?

I have become an addict, almost of watching funny but very thoughtful videos on Facebook videos and on YouTube.
But a video from a famous Muslim channel caught my attention.
The Facebook video channel is called Islam Way of Success. In the video, a Muslim lady is seen walking around the streets of London with a cute little gift bag and a bottle of beer.
She targets Muslim shops and restaurants and ask the people gathered there if they are devout Muslims.
As soon as they say yes, she will put a brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max Gold from the gift bag and show to one of them with the following instructions;
Hey, Good morning... how are you doing? Are you a Muslim? if the person answers yes, she pulls out the iPhone 12 Pro Max Gold with a bottle of beer attached.
And tells them this; "you know what, I want to really give you this brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max Gold. But on one condition... And the condition is that you have to drink just a bit of the alcohol in the bottle to win yourself the brand new phone.
Now before I continue the story, here's the catch, no true or devout Muslim drinks alcohol. As it is seen to be "haram" (a taboo) according to the Qu'ran.
And to the woman's surprise, none of her volunteers agreed to drink the alcohol. She even brought along her wingman who is also a member of her crew who pretends to be a stranger too and agrees to drink the alcohol.
They were both just checking to see how far each of their volunteers will go to compromise their standards and their religion.
Immediately the fake additional volunteer who is also the crew member of the lady tries to drink the alcohol from the bottle, either the individual volunteers from each scene slap the bottle unto the ground or whisks the bottle away from the guy's hand and either insult him or beat him on top.
This made the crew members truly believe that each of their individual volunteers are truly devout Muslims for real. No fakes.
Even in the face of a brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max Gold. Eventually, all the volunteers each got the phone as a gift regardless.
But what made me write this article and began being curious was... would I have been able to do the same as Kwame Sarpong?
Wouldn't I not compromise my values cheaply to give in to getting iPhone 12?

And you, reading or listening to my audio right now, wouldn't you have done the same thing just to get yourself a brand new latest iPhone?

I know many of you will be showing off with fake bravado and say there's absolutely nothing that can make me compromise on my values and standards or who I am for money, comfort or other material things.
These Muslim brothers and sisters in the video passed this test with flying colors. What about us Christians or we humans.
How will we fare when our integrity, honesty and discipline codes are put to the test?

Will we pass with flying colors like those guys in the video or we will be found wanting?

Integrity is doing the right things consistently even when no one is watching you. Can you look inside yourself and vouch for your own self that I am truly a man or a woman with integrity.
We crave for honesty in our world today but we hail selfishness with materialism attached. We say the world is full of deceit and lies these days when we are the same people promoting and encouraging these things to always happen.
We expect people to be honest and straightforward with us when we are on the receiving end but do quite the opposite to another person when the same expectation is required of us.
Listen, we cannot play in the cold at minus two degrees and curse the flu the next day. The cold season and the flu walk side by side with each other. You cannot play silly in the cold weather and somehow expect to swerve catching flu in the long run. it will eventually catch up to you, me and all of us for that matter.

Folks, for God sakes, Can we just let our yes be yes and our no be no. You and I really deserve better than lies and deceit. Don't you think?
