Rabindranath Tagore was a man of pride to the Bengalis and to the world. He was a leading Bengali poet as well as a novelist, composer, playwright, illustrator, songwriter, short story writer, essayist, vocalist and philosopher. Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore's creation included 52 books of poetry, 38 plays, 13 novels and 95 short stories, 1915 songs and 36 essays and other prose collections. Two songs written by Rabindranath Tagore are now the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.

He was born in English on 7th May 1861 and in Bengal on 25th Baishakh 1268 BS in a Tagore family of Jorasanko, Calcutta.
He was father Debendranath Tagore and mother Saroda Sundari Devi was the 14th child. From an early age, he was disliked in school.

As a child, Guru was enrolled in four different schools, the Oriental Seminary Normal School in Calcutta, the Bengal Academy and the Sen Xavier's Collegiate School. From an early age, Rabindranath Tagore became fascinated with songs, recitations, plays, literature, etc. He started writing poetry at the age of eight and his first wish poem was published in Tattvabodhini in 1874. In 1901, Rabindranath Tagore and his family moved to Santiniketan in Bolpur town of Birbhum district. Debendranath Tagore established an ashram here in 1888 and a temple in 1991. Rabindranath Tagore started an experimental school called Brahma Vidyalaya with a library in the garden of the ashram.

At this time the financial crisis of the Brambha Vidyalaya in Santiniketan intensified and Rabindranath Tagore had to bear the cost of his son and son-in-law's education abroad.
So Rabindranath Tagore was forced to deal with all this and sold his wife's jewelery and the house in Puri.
In the meantime, Rabindranath Tagore's poems were removed from Bengal and abroad.
After Kheya's poetry in 1901 and 1906, his famous book of poetry Gitanjali was published in 1910. In 1913 Gitanjali awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature to the Swedish academic Rabindranath Tagore for his English translation of the book. And in 1915 the British government gave him the title of Sir or Knighthood.
He relinquished his knighthood in 1919 in protest of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. In 1921, the poet and a few others set up an organization called Palli Sangathan Kendra in the village of Surul in Adin, Santiniketan. The aim of this organization was to improve agriculture.
To facilitate the prevention of malaria etc. and to increase health awareness among the common villagers.
In 1930, Rabindranath Tagore changed the name of the organization. In the last phase of Sriniketan's life, a total of 50 books by Rabindranath were published.
Particularly notable among his books of poetry of this period were Rabindranath Tagore's experiments in various branches of literature during the last seven seasons, Shyamoli, and Patraput's life. The result of his experiments was the daily plays and Chitrangada of several prose lyricists.
Besides, three more novels of Rabindranath were written by Sister Malch and four chapters in this episode. Most of his paintings were painted during this period of his life. At the same time, in the last years of his life, he became interested in science.

In 1937 his scientific anthology Biswaparichay was published. The last four years of his life were marked by a series of physical illnesses, during which time he had to stay in bed at least twice.
Rabindranath Tagore died in 1941 at Jorasanko's residence after a long illness. He was in critical condition in 1937 and recovered in 1940. After a long illness, he died at Jorasanko's residence in 1941.
