My contributions for a better Steemit

Yes, you are absolutely right @josevas217. Most of the users come to this website to write content, which is the most important thing, but at the same time, it is also true that blockchain-based websites need developers, and as you said, they already have the financial support needed to develop a platform.

I read this post Everyone should read it.

So your first question is, if we invite someone to join Steemit, what should we do to attract them?

I believe that the best way to do this is to arouse interest in people by telling them that this platform will enhance their knowledge, develop their writing skills, and, of course, make money, which will motivate them to stay on the site and work constantly.

I will tell them that one advantage of joining Steemit is that you can use your free time to earn money and gain knowledge. If you have spare time, then you can use it for creative hobby development. I would like to give them my own experience. I started toying with the idea back in 2006 to give up my offline job and work as a freelancer. I quit my job in 2008 and worked on various websites until 2011 as a content writer, editor and moderator on various national and international websites. But then I took an assignment in Australia and worked there until 2021. But, I wanted to do something so I continued on various forums where I learned about Steemit.

I remember when I saw a post by an experienced user of this platform on a forum that offered to help people if they were interested in joining Steemit. I took his offer even though I did not use his link. He was from my area, so I trusted him, although I didn’t know him personally. But I guess he is in cryptography. Then I remember a couple of tweets from one Portuguese member on one of my two Twitter accounts referring to this site, who often comes to India. He is a nature lover, meditation expert, and ecologist.

I was looking for a site to write about my meditation and naturopathy related topics, but I saw no specific communities, so I joined Colombia Original and wrote fiction to fulfill my passion.

But I’ll put all my attention as a user into answering your questions. I am a new member here on this website, so I don’t consider myself qualified to give opinions about pros and cons, but I must say, increasing the minimum number of words from 300 to 500 will make the content rich and more visible in search engines. The posts will attract more readers. But this is my personal opinion.

As you said, "When we invite someone to join Steemit, we talk about specific points."

This is crucial because it involves money, and money is the most important thing in today’s world (isn’t it? Or maybe it is not as important for some people), but I assume it is important.

As you said, we have to pay attention to what is more important, even if we consider money as a secondary means through which we can attract more people.

Your second question is if I were part of Steemit management: as a member of this platform, what changes would I make to make it better?

This is a tough question, especially for a novice like me, but I would suggest that we give some part of our budget to those members who can make this platform more dynamic by inviting talented members. This quantity is a suggestion that came to my mind, but you will understand its practicality better.

I know some popular ways to invite that I tried during my writing period from 2006 to 2013, on various national and international websites. I like some good social media platforms, and some of my favourite platforms are Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, Flipboard, LinkedIn, etc. Although you can also go to Facebook, but I will do it only when I create my own specific page.

If you want to invite online members through your posts, you will have to share them on social media, generate a lot of traffic, and understand how to attract members through your posts.

By tempting or showing them the money part?

No, not at all, because it can boomerang on you in most cases. Let’s assume that you brought in such members who write 2-4 articles and start thinking about why they have not earned till now. Then it will have a negative effect on this website.

See, there is no point in bringing in members and motivating them to write until you help them and stabilise them. In fact, this is quality vs. quantity method, so your members remain here permanently and enjoy the platform.

You will benefit no one if your referrals fail to earn money because that will bring negative reactions. So the best way to keep them motivated is, you should always be ready to help your friends, no matter which channel you adopt or how busy you are. If you can bring such people with you, then no one can stop you and Steemit from going to the moon.

We will have to make a strategy like we can increase traffic and add more people, but to get them, we have to work hard in the beginning.

As they say,

"If you have a strong foundation, you can build on it."

I give my opinion as follows:

-We can have a feature like "Interview with Famous Bloggers of Steemit" on YouTube.

-We can create our own business page on Facebook.

-We can use any social media sharing site and enroll more users.

-We can use forum websites that allow us to share our referral links.

Let us make sure how we can bring in new members through our writing. We can set up an account on the Google Question Hub. It is free, and Google Question Hub gives us tonnes of traffic. I wonder why it wasn’t available to me in 2011-2013 in the days of Bubblews when Arvind Dixit, based in the US, used to give 2 cents/view for posts with only 100 words (or more based on the author's choice) and he shut down all top-class writing websites.

Well, the jokes apart, we should try Google Question Hub for publicity. You said it and you are definitely not wrong, but if Steemit has opened a window for recent developments on this site, they can’t be wrong.

I am sure they will go a long way.👍

As far as my suggestion to improve the participation goes, let’s give our members with club status a little more liberty. I mean, if they are in Club 75 or Club 100, they should be allowed to start their own contests, which will definitely motivate them to be a little more active to get quick recognition.

If it is not possible to allow individual members to start a contest in particular communities, then the site management can create a separate community for freelancers. And yes, the members who do not belong to any club may also participate in those contests, which will be an added attraction. Once they know the importance of saving, maybe they will join a club too.

I have not yet brought any members here because I saw no reason to do that, but if I find any reason, not necessarily a monetary one but maybe in kind like added reputation points, etc., then why not? However, we can’t skip the money part with it as it works and motivates wonderfully with most.

My post is in response to @josevas217 I invite @ranarahman @deepak94 and @jyoti-thelight to participate in THIS CONTEST

(͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) That’s it for my time now (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Thank you for reading my humble effort.

Hello @dove11
You have shared many interesting views, really interesting.

I didn't know what you mention about Google Question Hub, I must admit that my knowledge of more social networks or these tools is quite limited, that's why it's more than important when we consult for others to give their opinion, because based on their experiences they can contribute much more.

Recognition on the platform, well, contests are a way, although I do not think it is the most effective, comments and good publications, making precensia in different communities is something that has more impact in that aspect, and even have some project, in short, involves a lot of work and time, but it's worth it in the end.

The interviews on the platform exist, the friend @ubongudofot has been doing a great job in this aspect, he has interviewed many renowned users in Steemit, but you are right when you say that there is a lack of promotion in traditional networks like Youtube, which has a lot of reach, and others.

Thank you very much for participating and giving your valuable points of view.

I agree with you that YouTube works wonders for publicity purpose esp in DIY but Google Question is entirely different. It prompts you ask questions and one that knows how to disguise their question that leads to his own purpose does wonderfully well. https://questionhub.withgoogle.com/
I keep LinkedIn at next, Flipboard and FB in the end because most people do nothing but like your post without even opening the link. My best wishes, and nice day ahead.

I forgot to mention Stumbleupon which is another good one for quick publicity.
