Steemit Engagement Challenge Season5 Week6 : Traveling the world at Christmas.

Greetings, it is another opportunity for Steemian to share how they celebrate the special date in their different communities. I have never had fun in such celebrations, but the company of friends made me develop the habit of celebrating. One person in my life who loves celebrations is my mom. It is one of her happy moments when she cooks and has people over to eat. Christmas is a Christian feast and is mostly celebrated by Christians. But the period when it falls has pushed non-Christians to celebrate the date. The only difference will be that the non-Christians will not be following the Christians to church for their usual rituals.

Do you celebrate Christmas in your country? If the answer is Yes, say how they celebrate it, if the answer is No, say what other special date they celebrate in December.

Yeah, we do celebrate in my country Cameroon. Christmas falls toward the end of the year, so many are involved in the celebrations. Schools take a break for pupils to join their families in celebrations. Companies give workers some time to spend with their families. Now, how they celebrate falls under the agenda of the date. Because of the event allocated to the date” Birth of Christ”. Christians say it is a time of love and unity. Well, that is for Christians. Non-Christians look at the period when the date falls, and it is seen as a moment to take a break from work and relax. Have some time with friends and family without bordering on work or clients.

Christmas is a date with so much attention from the people in my country. Starting from products, adding red and white colors to their brands. The Red and white colors overpower other colors on the streets and the presence of Christmas lighting during the night. Back home, parents go as far as getting new toys, and outfits, and it is always the day some kids have the chance to visit.

Do you perform any rituals at Christmas or on that special date? We would like to meet you.

Yeah, at my place of work. We will have to take a break, invite some friends and organize a small meetup. It is all about coming together, making jokes, and having an opportunity to meet some new friends.

What special food do you prepare for this celebration?

For me, the food is not special, the only difference is that the quantity is more than when you don’t have people around. What we make sure to be available will be the drinks, and the food will be something light.

Do you have any special memories regarding Christmas or that special date?

To make the date full of fun, there is always a singing and dancing competition. I’m not good at dancing or singing, but I will endeavor to dance. One special memory is always the presence of friends and family. I have friends, and I will go a month without seeing them. But on Christmas, which has to do with drinks. None of them were absent from the date.

@karianaporras will be the Steemian. I will be sending a virtual Christmas gift. I love to send a painting of her and the kids in class. Teaching is a sector to which I give 100% respect. It is not easy dealing with kids, so seeing @karianaporras as a strong lady who needs encouragement from us parents.
