This snake wasn't happy to be disturbed

I uncovered this beautiful Arizona snake under a tarp while I was cleaning up my yard.

Fortunately I quickly observed that it didn't have a rattle so it wasn't a rattlesnake (which do live here in Prescott)
although I'm not sure what species this one is).
Needless to say I didn't want to hurt it in any way so I gently moved it with a rake to under the next door empty shed. The house is empty so hopefully he'll find plenty of mice, slugs and insects to stay well fed and healthy.
