Praise and adoration.

Greetings brothers and friends,

Our life as Christians must be primarily of adoration and praise to our God. It is something that is born voluntarily in each of us. What many do not know is that worship and praise are two different things, despite being very similar.

Praise in the bible refers to praising, exalting, singing, blessing, and it can be demonstrated with words or gestures, sometimes raising hands. Worship refers to bowing, prostrating, showing reverence.

Praise exalts the attributes of God, at that moment we declare and confess the reality of his power and his attributes, for example when we praise and magnify his healing power, we are trusting that in any situation of illness, he can heal us.

Another characteristic of praise is that it is one-way, because it is we who are recognizing its power and glory through our praise. When we praise God, our praise rises from the earth to heaven and God is pleased in it.

Hebrews 13:15

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

God loves praise and wants us to be filled with joy when we praise him, may our praise be joyful, always declaring his power and glory.

Psalms 100.

1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Adoration, on the other hand, is a dialogue with God, here he responds to us, speaks to us. We enter his presence, and we prostrate ourselves before him with all the reverence he deserves, and with all our soul and heart, and he who knows our thoughts and heart listens attentively and responds to us. God delights in our worship, because he wants to spend an intimate and special time with his children.

John 4: 23-24.

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

In worship, our spirit is connected to the Holy Spirit, that is why it is an intimate and unique connection, one worship is never the same as the other, that is, the experience of today will never be the same as yesterday. So God wants worshipers to worship him in spirit and in truth.

In worship, we bring heaven to earth, that is why God establishes communication through worship, because his desire is to do his will on earth.

Matthew 6:10

your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

We can see then, that despite being very similar, praise and worship are very different, however, the two must always be alive in the life of the Christian. A Christian without praise or worship, is a Christian dead in life and needs to be reborn.
