Freedom
I would like to invite you to pause for a moment and join me on a mini journey…a moment of revelation that I’d like to share with you.

This video elicited a lot of heartbreak for me. For many reasons. Not only due to the fact that countless animals die because of the irresponsibility of humans and the tradegy of overfishing, pollution and the many numerous threats they pose. But for another reason, it speaks to me.
We as children of God, can be said to be in this same position. Born in sin, we come into this world as defenseless creatures tangled entirely in our sin. The more we participate in the things that God hates, the more entangled we become. Till we become so wrapped up, we become trapped, unable to move. Exactly where the enemy likes to see us. Weighed down by the world - worries, fears, doubts, insecurities, depression, impulsivity and many others.
This poor turtle was probably swimming, caught unawares of the trap, he was going directly into. Many times we find ourselves swimming head first into the traps the enemy set for our destruction. We may feel that tug to swim another way but deny our convictions and keep going in the same direction anyways. The direction that leads to devastation and destruction. Yes, the enemy doesn’t want us to thrive but hold us down, tie us up and leave us to die.
But the light at the end of this tunnel, as the helpers ran to this poor turtle’s assistance and tears came to my eyes, I was instantly reminded of God’s overwhelming love for us. The overwhelming love that sent His own Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins, even though He didn’t deserve it. The love that took our sins selflessly and willingly. The love that doesn’t want to leave us in bondage. The love that doesn’t want to leave us entangled to die. But His love is the kind of love,that rushes to us, cuts the cords and sets us free from bondage.
His love sets us free from every trial, setback, emotion, sickness and sin that holds us back from living our best life. His is the kind of love, that would give His own life for us, even though He didn’t deserve it. Oh what a love!
Just like the helper, picked up the turtle and returned the animal to the water, out of his distress. He says in Pslams 147:3 - He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds.
So too Jesus picks us up out of the trenches and distress, carries us and gives us a new found freedom that can only be found in Him. He is the living water, and when we drink of Him we shall never thirst. Its easy to find this world making grandeur promises that never truly satisfy, but when your soul is empty and the well runs dry, look to Jesus. He is waiting for you with arms wide open and will quench your thirsting soul, that is aching for that missing peace, with His Spirit - if only you give Him the opportunity.
John 4:14
So come to the Living waters and there you will find endless life.
No more shackles, no more chains
Freedom is calling.
