The desire to exalt God must become for us the greatest of all impulses. It must spring from our desire to make the most of the opportunities open to us to learn the rational use of God's gifts.
It should encourage us to maintain our health in the best condition so that our physical and mental alertness can make us wise and faithful stewards.
If we give free rein to our selfish desire, then it dulls our minds and hardens our hearts, and when it dominates us imperiously, our moral strength does not resist and is destroyed. At that moment, disappointment comes.
True success comes to the people of God; He, able to read human hearts, looked with kindness at the particle of thoughts of his servant and his firm decision to exalt God. Those who fulfill the purpose of God in their lives must use the most serious and diligent efforts in any work entrusted to them.
One of God's wishes is that we be obedient to his word, maintain order, and obey his discipline. So, before we can advance in the Christian life, we need to get rid of the old habits and concepts.
Now it will be difficult for you to change your character in the way that God requires, because even in your youth it was difficult to be punctual and quick in your actions.
When a character is formed, habits are fixed and mental and moral properties are inhibited, it is extremely difficult to break the habit of bad habits and get used to speed and decision. You need to learn to value time.
You can't justify your habit of quitting the most important, albeit unpleasant, job, hoping to get rid of it altogether, hoping to return to it when it's not so unpleasant, and meanwhile engaging in pleasant and onerous matters.
First, you must do the most important work, directly related to the vital interests of God's work, and only after that take on the least necessary things.
Punctuality and determination in God's work are extremely important. Procrastination is equivalent to defeat. Every minute is worth its weight in gold and should be used in the best way. Earthly ties and personal interests should be left in the background.
God's work should never suffer, in the least, due to the whims of our earthly friends or dear relatives.
