Tell about what crops or gardens you have grown or visited.

As a lover of agriculture, I have grown many gardens yearly. I grow them around my compound, both in front and backyard of my house. Our land is big, so instead of leaving it to waste, I started making gardens around it. I have vegetable gardens, plantain gardens, my corn garden, my yam garden, etc.
Am also planning to enlarge the garden by the year and also add new crops.
Some of my crops are annual crops, while some like bitterleaf, banana, and plantains are not, so for this one I do water them during the dry season from our borehole water.

Is it not that stressful for me to make a garden because it has been part of my life since I was small? My father is a farmer and loves agriculture well, so that blood is still flowing.

I would like to be a professional farmer, but I don't think I have to study agriculture anymore because my father has taught me everything.
My gardens always make me happy seeing their green leaves.
I will like to show some of my gardens.

This is my plantain and banana garden. I plant both together because they have the same features.I always manure and fertilise them when necessary and water them also. They are giving me what I want also. branches of plantains in the market today are N7000, about 30 steem, but I have it in my garden, so I don't need to border myself with the price.

This is my yam garden, I also stake, manure and fertilizer them when necessary . I grow yam every year because of the price in market.

Do you think your garden and crop can contribute to the economy?

Yes, gardens and crops can contribute to the economy. Considering the economy of my country recently and the high cost of goods in the market, I think making your own crops and garden is the best option.

Several ways gardens and crops can contribute to the economy.

  • Production of food: you can produce various types of food from your garden and have it fresh. Producing your crops at home without stressing yourself to the market. Food items, both crops and vegetables, are very costly in the market. When you have your own garden, you won't have to spend much buying food items because your garden produces some for you.
  • Earning income, the crops In your garden, when they are harvested, you can sell them to make income. The money earned from selling them can be for solving other purposes or the exchange of another food item.
  • Job creation and gardening create employment opportunities in agriculture. Having your own garden or being employed by a gardener.

  • Gardening and crops also contribute to the economy by supporting local food systems. Raising your own food in a simple way.

  • It also encourages sustainable agriculture and plants crops for consumption. Most gardeners that I have seen grow their crops only for consumption.

My gardens make my spending less; I make a lot from my yam and banana garden and taking fresh fruits and crops.
also.

What measures are taken for the diagnosis and prevention of various diseases?

To prevent various crops and plant diseases, I will take the following measures:

  • Crop rotation, Rotating crops breaks the disease cycle. Planting different crops yearly prevents long-term disease from spreading.
  • Pruning or removal of dead and infected crops or plants helps to prevent a variety of diseases.
  • Watering your plants and planting them in a sunny area to help them absorb nutrients from the sun
  • Maintaining soil health means adding manure or fertiliser to the soil to make it grow healthy. When plants don't see enough nutrients to absorb, they develop disease or die.
  • Applying chemicals to prevent fungal, bacterial, nematode, and insect-borne disease from spreading in the garden. You can use chemicals like insecticides, herbicides, nematodes, fungicides, etc. this chemical to prevent our crop from various types of diseases.
