Agriculture refers to all productive activities which also involves the cultivation of soil for the production of different crops, breeding and management of livestock and preparation of plant and animal products of man use.
So i will be taking part in this contest titled; "Impact of agriculture in your area" organized by @selina1 here in #Nature&Agriculture.
How does climate affect agriculture in your region?
In my country Nigeria most especially the eastern part of the country where am living the climate conditions affect agriculture in such a way the farmers experience insufficient rainfall which atimes results to low and scarcity of agricultural output which in other way lead to increase in price of agricultural products and the supply also will be low, apart from that the soil in the eastern part of the country is not as good and fertile like the one in the north and other part of the country.
Explain what vegetables are grown in your region during the winter season and about them.
During the Winter period popularly known as dry season the farmers around my areas usually plant some crops and vegetables such as onions, garlic, cabbages, carrots, spinach and many others because that is the right time to do so, during the winter season most of those plant collect and stores energy in its roots, and when conditions like temperature are right the next spring the plant begins to grow again, some of the plants also survives by dropping leave to reduce the surface area that is exposed to the cold, drying air, saving water in the plant.
Explain about the market price of local seasonal vegetables in your area.
As for local season vegetables in my area i will say it very costly and expensive because the place we're most of this vegetables are cultivated is very far from the town so the transportation aspect alone is enough reason why the vegetables are very costly, apart from that the issues of insufficient rainfall also contributed as well, just imagine buying four pieces of for N200 which is equivalent 0.44 steem the worst among them all is onions which is very expensive here assive is imported.
