American Airlines and JetBlue Airways have said that they are forming a strategic partnership to boost flying options from New York and Boston and create a "growth engine" to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
The deal will allow the two carriers to sell each other's flights and link frequent flyer programmes, giving them more advantage against rivals United Airlines and Delta in the north-east at a time when carriers are preparing to downsize and cut jobs.
