Cam Newton was the first pick in the NFL draft in 2011.  He has a NFL MVP to his credit.  He is also out of a job.

The Carolina Panthers released the quarterback.  Newton missed most of 2019 with a foot injury.  He was in Atlanta for a physical and passed it.

That did not stop the team from releasing him.  He was thought to be the quarterback of the future but it is evident the team is going in another direction.
