A group who flouted coronavirus lockdown rules and travelled 110 miles to the Dorset coast had to be rescued after they got into difficulty.

Emergency crews including lifeboats and a helicopter were called after three men from Slough got stuck at Old Harry Rocks near Swanage when the tide cut them off.

Rescuers helped two members of the group from the cliffs after a third person swam to Studland Bay to get help on Thursday.

The incident involved 45 emergency services workers.
