Honestly, if he fully understands his mistake I'm kinda okay with it. granted, I'm surprised he's not doing toilet duty till his service time is up... or since he's got CV, he's gonna be put in charge of a ship with people who also have CV. Might as well have the infected captain run an infected ship. Eyebrow raised, I have a feeling there's more to the story that's classified that we all don't know
