Explain your opinion about the importance of the English language in the job sector.

Partially, I do concur with the mentioned statement that English language is indispensable in the arena of employment since English is viewed as the global language. Globalization of business entails the integration of several organizations into the market, and therefore a person should be ready to interact with its clients, co-workers, suppliers, among others from different cultures.

Larger roles such as employability are improved through use of English since it opens up many employment opportunities, enable one to work in international teams, and operate in the global marketplace. Additionally, good English can be highly beneficial because it makes it possible to be paid more and get promotions. In general, the fight of a man to speak English fluently is a considerable advantage that plays a paramount role in enhancing one’s performance as well as competitiveness in the job market.

Explain which language has the most impact on jobs in your country and why.

Out of the languages mentioned, English affects jobs in my country Nigeria in the most extensive way because it is used universally ranging from business trading, governmental, educational and even in communication. Simply, due to the dominance of English and the fact that it is an official language, it is expected that those who possess better English would get better paid or more qualified jobs or international opportunities. Several organizations that trade internationally in Nigeria use English in their operations, thus the need to have it as a working language.

Also, and of importance to the acquisition of employment, the Nigerian educational system is keen on the mastery of English. Fluency in English gives one an added advantage when it comes to job openings not only in Nigeria but also in other countries to phase with the internationals job markets. However, fluency in the English language is a major determinant to career mobility and productivity in Nigeria which makes English the most vital language ever in as much as employment chances are concerned.

What advice would you give to the students of your country about language learning from your experience?

For me, I will advise the Nigerian students on language learning and highlight on the aspects of practicing the target language frequently and this can be through speaking, listening, and writing most times and at the same time, I will explain to the Nigerian students the importance of cultural Immersion by involving themselves in the cultural practices of the country of the language they are learning through watching movies, listening to music, and interacting with the native speakers.

My first advice is that they should set course and specific goals for language learning which should be followed in accordance with a timetable and my other advice to them is that learning of a new language is a long process and one has to be patient and determined I will try an encourage them to accept that making mistakes is a part of the learning process and they should learn from their mistakes.

Finally, seize the opportunity for people being multilingual in present-globalized world to stress on potential advantages, like the existence of better employment opportunities, cognition enhancement, and cultural sensitivity.
