Let's talk about fruits today. Fruits are delicious and have lots of health benefits for humans. I got some fruits from the market, as you can see in my bowl; I have pawpaw, cucumber, carrot and African star apple(udara). Why I get these fruits is to snack on them to prevent being too hungry before meal time. Let's talk about the benefits of these fruits.

Pawpaw(papaya) is a delicious fruit to consume and one of my favourite fruits. It has a high content of vitamin C that helps in boosting the immune system, promotes healthy skin and aids digestion.

Pawpaw has a natural sugar and carbohydrate that supplies the body with energy to keep up with your activities. It's satisfying snacks low in calories that will help you maintain a healthy weight. Pawapaw potassium contents help regulate high blood pressure.

Cucumber is a healthy fruit with about 90% water content that helps the body remain hydrated. It is rich in minerals like magnesium and potassium. It's good for weight management since it's low in calories.

Cucumber is rich in vitamin K, which is vital for bone health; it also helps in reducing blood sugar levels and improving insulin sensitivity. It's used for skin care as it has anti-inflammatory properties that help keep the skin hydrated.

Carrot helps with improved vision, particularly night vision and reduces the risk of other eye conditions; it also protects the skin from damage. It is rich in vitamins K, C, and B and beta-carotene that converts to vitamin A in the body.

Carrots have antioxidants that fight oxidative stress, prevent constipation, help in digestion and improve gut health due to their dietary fibre content.

African star apple, called udara in my dialect, is a fruit rich in nutrients and natural antioxidants. Some of it has a sweet taste while some taste sour. You can eat any of your choices, but I like the sweet ones. The fruit is always in season from December to March.

It's rich in vitamins A, C and B. It helps in digestive health, weight management, heart health and boosts the immune system. I have noticed that a lot of people love this particular fruit, they crave and look forward to its season.

These fruits are eaten raw. Some people prefer taking them as smoothies, or they can be incorporated into your cooking. Whatever way you enjoy your fruit, make sure to consume them once in a while, or if you can have access to them daily, take them every day because every fruit has its unique health benefits. Some of these fruits are medicinal and help improve overall well-being.
